Apply for GLP

The GLP placement for 2020 was cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions. We are working with those who were set to travel to Uganda and Rwanda to support their professional learning and collaboration with our network and will be actively working towards a potential placement for 2021. We would welcome enquiries from practitioners who would like to consider 2021 and join our active network discussions and opportunities.

Join more than 100 empowered, inspirational educationalists in Scotland who have been motivated to become leaders of learning within their school communities, passionate about Learning for Sustainability and global citizenship. Our alumni’s increased confidence in their own pedagogy, creativity, resourcefulness and  innovation is directly improving pupil and school community experiences.

GLP is open to all education practitioners working in Scotland’s 3-18 school-based system, as well as those who support the development and delivery of education within local authorities such as Quality Improvement Officers. Everyone’s learning from this programme is unique and it has benefitted practitioners at all career stages.

“I have not only developed skills through GLP but realised the skills which I already have. In Rwanda you are constantly drawing on all your teaching skills. It is not until you are in a totally different environment, with little resources, that you think back to the basics of teaching and learning. I have learnt to be very resourceful, flexible and creatively use what is available.”

Laura Gauld, GLP 2018
